I sketched a map showing where the lounges are at the Auckland airport international terminal.

Lounges at Auckland Airport: A Helpful Map and Guide

Updated by Chris. Chris enjoys taking a shower in the lounge before a flight, especially if the flight departs first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

A map and directions to each of the lounges at Auckland Airport. I found the lounges at Auckland airport a little tough to find so I put together this guide on where to find a lounge at Auckland airport. I’ve also included details on how to access each of the lounges.

All the lounges for international flights at Auckland airport are located on Level 2. Access to Level 2 is via an escalator which is to the right, just past some shops, after clearing security, customs, and the duty free area.

In the international departures area there are four lounges at Auckland Airport: Koru Lounge, Strata Lounge, Emirates Lounge, and Qantas Lounge.

The Koru Lounge is located to the left after passing through security, customs, and duty free. Look for what’s currently the Aroha Cafe, then look to the left of that.

The Strata Lounge is located on the right hand side, up the escalator, after passing through security, customs and duty free shopping.

The Emirates Lounge is located on the right hand side after passing through security, customs and duty free shopping. Look for an escalator to go upstairs.

The Qantas Lounge is also up the escalator located on the right hand side after passing through the duty free shops.

The escalator for the Strata, Emirates, and Qantas lounge is next to what is currently the Adidas shop.

In the domestic departures area, the Air New Zealand domestic lounge is currently located near Gate 33, though this arrangement may change soon due to renovations.

Lounge Access at Auckland Airport

There is 1 pay-per-use lounge at Auckland Airport, the Strata Lounge. There are also 3 airline lounges covering the remainder of international flights departing Auckland airport.

Strata Lounge

To find the Strata Lounge at Auckland Airport:

  1. Pass through security, customs, and duty free
  2. Walk past some shops, such as Hugo Boss and Coach, stick to the right
  3. Go up the escalator in front of Adidas

The Strata Lounge is available to the following passengers:

  • DragonPass members
  • Priority Pass members
  • Eligible passengers flying with: China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Air, Philippine Airlines, Samoa Airways, Sichuan Airlines, and Virgin Australia

DragonPass and Priority Pass sell memberships starting form 99 USD that allow access to lounges, such as the Strata Lounge. I wrote a guide comparing these lounge programmes, if you’re interested in how to get unlimited lounge access and how much it costs, check out the comparison here: https://landinglastminute.com/alternative-lounge-membership/

Pay-per-use access can also be booked online here. The Strata Lounge costs 59 NZD for a three hour stay. Bookings must be made 24 hours prior to arrival (pay at the door is acceptable if the lounge is not crowded though costs 7 NZD more).1

The Strata Lounge includes a shower, coffee, tea, and some hot and cold food. It doesn’t include beer, wine, or spirits. I can live without alcohol, but a shower is the number one feature I look for in an airport lounge.

The Strata Lounge is open from 5am to 1am every day.
